English abstract

This article it's about the development a digital video streaming service in the Pacific University. The technology of streaming is the most efficient way of delivery video in Internet. The technology allows that Internet becomes a excellent tool in the learning process.

Spanish abstract

El presente artículo trata sobre el desarrollo de un sistema de videoteca digital por streaming que ha sido implementado en la Universidad del Pacífico. Este proyecto es un trabajo pionero en el Perú en el tema de gestión de contenidos digitales de información audiovisual. La tecnología de streaming es la forma más eficiente de distribución de videos en Internet, por la facilidad de transmisión de datos que permite ver videos de gran extensión en forma instantánea pudiendo acceder a cualquier parte del la película. La tecnología permite que Internet se convierta en una herramienta de apoyo al proceso de aprendizaje.
