English abstract

The UB is the only Spanish university among the top 200 universities around the world and among the 100 top European level. In this presentation a short general information about the University of Barcelona is given. Most of the slides are devoted to the Faculty of Library and Information Science (LIS) --Facultat de Biblioteconomia i Documentació-, its historical background since it was created in 1915, career courses, masters, doctoral courses, research projects, etc.
