English abstract

In order to apply the knowledge acquired in the subject, the teachers propose a real case study, based on a requirement made by the group of the Center for Biomedical Research in Free Radicals of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine (of the Udelar) Uruguay, directed by Dr. Rafael Radi. In particular, the Research Group requested that “the impact of our publications… [as well as] know the research area where our work has the greatest impact” be analyzed. For this, the referred research group provided a list of bibliographic references of 97 articles that they published in different scientific journals from 1989 to 2007. It is on the basis of these bibliographic references that the present quantitative study of a statistical-bibliometric descriptive was carried out.
