Abstract

Obra que trata sobre la vida y obra de Gunnar Mendoza Loza (1914-1994), uno de los más grandes maestros y pioneros de la archivística y su gran impacto en el desarrollo de tal disciplina en Bolivia. En suma, su obra permitió recuperar parte de la memoria del pueblo boliviano, la preservó de la destrucción inminente y bregó para su conservación y accesibilización; Recuperó, cuando menos la información de archivos que se encuentran en lugares lejanos, donde se encuentran contra la voluntad de sus originadores --en tanto patrimonio nacional-- y ha hecho lo necesario para su utilidad. Esta memoria oficial de la historia de Bolivia, ha sido salvada. Entre otras cosas, nos toca continuar --en la medida de nuestras posibilidades-- dirigir nuestra atención a la información no oficial de la historia de Bolivia.

[English abstract]

A work which studies the life and work of Gunnar Mendoza Loza (1914-1994), one of the greatest Bolivian professors and pioneers of the archives science and its great impact in the development of the this discipline in Bolivia. In summary, his work allowed the Bolivian people to recover part of their memory, it preserved it from the imminent destruction and prepared the field for its conservation and access. He recovered, at least the information found in faraway places, where it is found against the will of their organizers --as long as it is national patrimony-- and he did the necessary for its utilization. This official memory of the history of Bolivia has been saved. Among other things, it is now to us to continue --as our possiblities allow us-- to lead our attention to the non-official information of the history of Bolivia.
