English abstract

The research goals were: a) Identify the main attributes of the leisure-time activities of school students. b) Analyze the school students' perceptions of the reading as a leisure-time activity. The author used a self-report instrument with a sample of 325 school students of a private religious Peruvian high school. Using the multidimensional scaling (MDS) it was possible to identify three attributes which characterizes the adolescents' leisure-time activities.

Spanish abstract

Los objetivos del estudio fueron: a) conocer los atributos que caracterizan las actividades realizadas por los adolescentes en su tiempo libre. b) conocer la percepción que los adolescentes tienen de la lectura, como actividad realizada en su tiempo libre. Se utilizó un instrumento de autorreporte en una muestra de 325 estudiantes de secundaria de un colegio particular religioso. El escalamiento multidimensional permitió identificar tres atributos que caracterizan las actividades realizadas en el tiempo libre de los adolescentes, dentro de los cuales la tecnología y la socialización aparecen como elementos organizadores.
