English abstract

The paper is about the complex issue of information architecture in the Internet, with particular reference to the findability of information and to the interoperability among description schemes (metadata) of different information systems, both at national and international level. In the aim of giving a state-of-the-art of the problems, solutions and standards that the information architecture community is facing, the analysis focuses on the educational sciences sector.

Il testo affronta la complessa questione dell'architettura dell'informazione in Internet, con particolare riferimento alla trovabilità dei dati e all'interoperabilità tra schemi di descrizione (metadata) di diversi sistemi di informazione, sia a livello nazionale sia a livello internazionale. Nell'intento di offrire una panoramica delle varie problematiche, soluzioni e standard che la comunità degli architetti dell'informazione online sta trattando, l'analisi si concentra sul settore disciplinare delle scienze dell'educazione.
