English abstract

The cross-boundary collaboration between the libraries of Technological Institute of Serres and the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski” is an initiative included in a wider collaboration programme between the above communities on the distance learning education in the fields of ICT and New Economy. The planning, coordination and management of a scientific and informative material exchange project amongst two academic libraries of different countries premised the communication in human resource as well as in technological infrastructure level. Statutory, organisational and spiritual rights issues as well as student teaching matters were brought up for discussion so as to find the optimum teaching practice with an ultimate target for the end users to be able to use equally the sources of the two collaborative libraries. The specific paper comes from the Greek side and contains comments on the experience gained out of implementing the above programme. Emphasis is given on the problem solving procedures as well as the promotion of the Library’s image as an educational tool on both academic communities. Adding this special activity on the current library work comprised a reason for an inner evaluation, reorganisation and preparation for supporting future activities as part of lifelong and distance learning education.

Η διασυνοριακή συνεργασία μεταξύ της βιβλιοθήκης του ΤΕΙ Σερρών και της βιβλιοθήκης του Πανεπιστημίου Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski” αποτελεί επιμέρους δράση ενός ευρύτερου προγράμματος συνεργασίας μεταξύ των αντίστοιχων ιδρυμάτων για την από απόσταση εκπαίδευση στους τομείς των ΤΠΕ και της Νέας Οικονομίας. Ο σχεδιασμός, ο συντονισμός και η διαχείριση ενός έργου ανταλλαγής επιστημονικού και πληροφοριακού υλικού μεταξύ δύο ακαδημαϊκών βιβλιοθηκών διαφορετικών κρατών προϋπόθετε την επικοινωνία τόσο σε επίπεδο ανθρώπινου δυναμικού, όσο και τεχνολογικών υποδομών. Θεσμικά και οργανωτικά θέματα, ζητήματα πνευματικής ιδιοκτησίας, εκπαιδευτικές πρακτικές τέθηκαν υπό εξέταση ώστε να βρεθούν οι βέλτιστες πρακτικές με στόχο οι τελικοί χρήστες να μπορέσουν να χρησιμοποιήσουν ισότιμα τους πόρους των δύο συνεργαζομένων βιβλιοθηκών. Η εμπειρία από την εφαρμογή του παραπάνω προγράμματος σχολιάζεται στην παρούσα ανακοίνωση από την ελληνική πλευρά. Έμφαση δίνεται στις διαδικασίες επίλυσης των προβλημάτων και στην προώθηση της εικόνας της βιβλιοθήκης ως εκπαιδευτικού εργαλείου και στις δύο εκπαιδευτικές κοινότητες. Η προσθήκη στις τρέχουσες εργασίες της βιβλιοθήκης αυτής της ιδιαίτερης δράσης, αποτέλεσε αιτία μιας εσωτερικής αποτίμησης και επαναδιοργάνωσης και την προετοιμασία για υποστήριξη στο μέλλον δράσεων δια βίου και απομακρυσμένης εκπαίδευσης.
