English abstract
This article highlights the many benefits of reading for the development of people, approaching from its therapeutic function. We conclude that the commitment of information professionals, will reside in assembling all his skills, for multidisciplinary work and the choice of appropriate materials, making contributions from the library, reading and recognizing the vital resource for bibliotherapy.
Spanish abstract
En este artículo, se exponen las innumerables ventajas de la lectura para el desarrollo de las personas, enfocándola desde su función terapéutica. Se concluye que el compromiso del profesional de la información, residirá en congregar todas sus habilidades, para el trabajo multidisciplinar y la elección del material adecuado. Realizando contribuciones desde la bibliotecología, y reconociendo a la lectura como recurso trascendental, para la biblioterapia.
