Abstract(s)

Public libraries must modernize and transform itself in order to take advantage of its full potential for lifelong learning since that promotes social integration, the active participation of citizens, creativity and socio-economic development of the current multicultural communities. The learning is closely related to the development of basic skills, knowledge and skills related to information management and management through computer media (information literacy and digital) that librarians must acquire in order to teach after the first. It highlights the need to organize learning from the library in coordination with other institutions in the community to develop a stable. These theoretical aspects are illustrated with some good practices of public libraries as centres of learning.

Las bibliotecas públicas deben modernizarse y transformarse con el fin aprovechar al completo su potencial para el aprendizaje permanente dado que este fomenta la integración social, la participación activa de los ciudadanos, la creatividad y el desarrollo socioeconómico de las actuales comunidades multiculturales. El aprendizaje está muy relacionado con el desarrollo de destrezas básicas, conocimientos y habilidades relativas al manejo de la información y su manejo a través de medios informáticos (alfabetización informacional y digital) que los bibliotecarios deberán adquirir primero para poder enseñar después. Se pone de manifiesto la necesidad de organizar el aprendizaje desde la biblioteca de forma coordinada con otras instituciones de la comunidad para desarrollarlo de forma estable. Estos aspectos teóricos se ilustran con algunas buenas prácticas de bibliotecas públicas como centros de aprendizaje.
