English abstract

Translation of Cristóbal Urbano Salido (Schooh of Library and Information Science, University of Barcelona). Original by: Maurice B. Line, “Electronic information: use and users”, at 6es Jornades Catalanes de Documentació (Barcelona: Societat Catalana de Documentació i Informació: Col·legi Oficial de Bibliotecaris-Documentalistes de Catalunya, 1997), p. 25-36. The use and users of electronic information constitutes a very large topic, which I cannot hope to cover at all extensively. This paper will offer some observations based on experience (my own and other people's) reading, and a good deal of thinking about the issues over the last decade or so.
