Spanish abstract

La biblioteca electrónica / Internet aumentan la necesidad de habilidades de información en la investigación académica, con respecto a tres categorías: valoración; conocimiento y utilización de recursos, y habilidades lógicas y lingüísticas. En relación con esto, hay un aumento espectacular de la demanda de formación en habilidades de información. Se describen en líneas generales las habilidades a incluir en la formación dentro del proceso de supervisión en doctorado. Los datos cualitativos del proyecto Information Access, actualmente en funcionamiento entre directores de tesis, sugieren que para una formación eficaz de investigadores (i) se requiere un reconocimiento de la dimensión del problema (ii) se ha de adoptar un modelo diferente de formación de los usuarios de las bibliotecas (iii) debe reconocerse la naturaleza evolutiva de las necesidades de formación (iv) los directores de investigación tienen un papel importante que jugar junto con los bibliotecarios; (v) es necesario un debate explícito sobre aspectos metacognitivos de estas habilidades; (vi) las instituciones locales y nacionales han de formular políticas de información; (vii)los mismos directores de investigación necesitan formación y apoyo; (viii) docentes y estudiantes han de responsabilizarse de su propio aprendizaje en este área.
