English abstract

First Free/Open source integrated library management systems (ILS) appeared in the late 1990', but, in Belgium, we had to wait 2004 to get a first feedback concerning PMB, and 2007 for another concerning Koha. Are other Open-source ILS used in Belgium? Why go for an Open-source ILS? Fifty-one Belgian libraries or documentation centres that use an Open-source ILS has been identified. With the results of two surveys, we are able to provide a first overview of the Belgian status regarding Open-source ILS. The most frequent is PMB. A user group has been created to provide tranings and complete the traduction of the software in Dutch (PMB is already available in French and English). Koha and oBiblio are less used. It will be useful to follow the evolution of Open-source ILS in the future, but also their position regarding commercial ILS.

Si les premiers systèmes intégrés de gestion de bibliothèque (SIGB) libres sont apparus à la fin des années 1990, il a fallu attendre 2004 pour qu’un premier retour d’expérience soit fait en Belgique concernant PMB, et 2007 pour Koha. D’autres SIGB libres sont-ils utilisés en Belgique ? Pourquoi choisir un SIGB libre ? Cinquante et une bibliothèques belges ou centres de documentation ayant installé un SIGB libre ont été identifiés. En compilant ici les résultats de deux enquêtes menées auprès de ces utilisateurs, nous pouvons proposer un premier aperçu de la situation du SIGB libre en Belgique. Le SIGB libre le plus utilisé en Belgique est PMB. Un groupe d’utilisateurs s’est d’ailleurs organisé afin de proposer des formations et de compléter la traduction en néerlandais. Koha et oBiblio sont actuellement faible-ment représentés. Il sera donc intéressant de suivre l’évolution du marché du SIGB libre dans les années à venir, mais aussi leur positionnement par rapport aux solutions commerciales.
