English abstract

This article shows the pioneering experience of an Arabic web site on librarianship and information edited in Egypt. Information is given about the beginnings, the evolution across the years of activity, the structure of contents as well as the services offered. It is the first experience in Internet of a web site with these characteristics that includes four data base, all of them pioneering in its conception and achievement too. It is a small piece of explanation on Arabic documentation in Spanish language.

Son pocos los datos que se tienen de la documentación árabe y en árabe en España. En esste artículo se quiere dar a conocer, a través de un estudio pormenorizado, un portal web pionero en el campo de la biblioteconomía e información elaborado en este idioma en Egipto. Se facilita información sobre los comienzos, la evolución sufrida a lo largo de los años de vida del portal, la estructura de los contenidos y los servicios que ofrece. Se trata de la primera experiencia pionera en Internet de un portal de estas características que incluye 4 bases de datos, todas ellas asímismo pioneras en su concepción y realización.
