English abstract

Web 2.0 is about connecting people (Facebook, MySpace, Ning), in an interactive, (IM, multimedia) collaborative workplace (slideshare, flickr, terchnorati, tagging) that everyone can edit (wikis, blogs). It is aka the social web or the read/write web. To familiarise librarians with the opportunities offered by Library 2.0, Helen Blowers, a librarian at the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, devised a discovery learning programme to encourage staff to explore the use of emerging technologies and how these might be applied within a library context. Ciber.23 library things is the first Italian version of this programme, and was launched among the Caspur-Ciber community on 5 January, 2009
