English abstract

The platonic nexus between texts life and the vitality of knowledge communities that insisted on them was very important and evident. The problem about the theories' paternity remained secundary: “auctor” was him who was able to establish a durable knowledge community. In an industrial and centralized system of information distribution, texts go away from knowledge communities. Scientific Community itself, trying to survive, has to become a publisher, by adoption of peer review. Unlike printed publishing Internet enables low cost reproduction and distribution of texts.

Il nesso platonico fra la vita dei testi e la vitalità delle comunità di conoscenza che insistevano su di essi era importante ed evidente. Il problema della paternità delle teorie rimaneva secondario: auctor era chi riusciva a fondare una comunità di conoscenza durevole. In un sistema industriale e centralizzato di distribuzione dell'informazione, i testi si allontano dalle comunità di conoscenza. La stessa comunità scientifica, per sopravvivere come tale, deve farsi editrice (Phil. Trans. 1665), adottando lo strumento della selezione (peer review) ex ante in luogo di quella ex post. La rete, a differenza della stampa, permette di riprodurre e distribuire i testi a costi bassissimi.
