English abstract

This work reflects on the development of educational projects in higher education institutions libraries in the so-called "Knowledge Society". The globalization process and the new information technologies redefined the action of the contemporary library, turning it into a teaching and learning space, as well as leading those who make use of it, to a true "learning to learn”. This work was developed with the purpose of carrying out actions in the library in question, in order to make a better use of its spaces and services. It was carried out in a library of a higher education institution located in the East of the city of São Paulo, making use of the researchaction methodology. The actions consisted of educational projects developed in the library throughout the year. All the actions were evaluated during the process through indicators previously established. The results showed that the work was successful after verifying, by means of cultural and educational actions, that the library can extend its space of actions as well as provide a better use of its space by the academic community.

Este trabalho consiste em refletir sobre o desenvolvimento de projetos educacionais em bibliotecas de Instituições de Ensino Superior na chamada “Sociedade do Conhecimento”. O processo de globalização e as novas tecnologias da informação redefiniram a atuação da biblioteca contemporânea no sentido de torná-la em um espaço de ensino e aprendizagem bem como conduzir os que dela fazem uso a um verdadeiro “aprender a aprender”.O trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de realizar ações na biblioteca em questão a fim de uma maior apropriação de seus espaços e serviços. O local onde se realizou o trabalho foi em uma biblioteca de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior localizada na Zona Leste da cidade de São Paulo. A metodologia aplicada foi a da pesquisa-ação. As ações consistiram em pequenos projetos educacionais desenvolvidos na biblioteca ao longo de um ano. Todas as ações foram avaliadas durante o processo através de indicadores previamente estabelecidos. Os resultados demonstraram êxito no trabalho através de projetos ao constatar que por meio de ações educativas e culturais a biblioteca pode ampliar de seu espaço de atuação bem como proporcionar uma maior apropriação deste espaço pela comunidade acadêmica.
