English abstract

In 2003 IFLA formed the Study Group on the Future Directions of the ISBDs with the aim to balance ISBD(G) and the other seven ISBDs, to overcome the differences in the areas 1, 2, and 6, and to reach an ISBD consolidated edition (through the help of ISBD XML Document Type Definition (DTD) and ONIX).

Italian abstract

Nel 2003 l’IFLA costituì lo Study Group on the Future Directions of the ISBDs, con l’obiettivo di armonizzare il testo delle otto ISBD – l’ISBD generale e le sette ISBD specifiche – e di superare le pur lievi discrasie normative, in particolare nelle aree 1, 2 e 6, e soprattutto di ottenere un’ISBD consolidated version, cioè un un testo unico. La relazione analizza le varie fasi del processo che hanno portato all’armonizzazione dell’ISBD e ipotizza alcune linee di sviluppo: un ISBD XML Document Type Definition (DTD) e nuove applicazioni come ONIX.
