English abstract

The author provides a general introduction to the digital archival service and examines the issues connected with the “user-centred” evaluation of quality for archival web sites and digital finding aids. A special attention is dedicated to the main Italian National Archival Information Systems and to the Information Systems that offer finding aids that include descriptions of archival material at all levels.

L’articolo analizza l’offerta di risorse finalizzate alla ricerca archivistica attraverso il web offrendo un modello di valutazione basata sulle esigenze degli utenti. Accanto a considerazioni di ordine generale sulle modalità di progettazione e restituzione dei sistemi, si prendono in considerazione i siti web e i principali sistemi informativi a livello nazional, valutandone l’offerta soprattutto sulla base degli inventari archivistici che essi rendono disponibili.
