English abstract

The value of a database of images is incalculable, because often, researchers seek answers to specific questions that are only in images. SpringerImages is a database of over 1.7 million images, drawings, photos, tables, charts, etc., with their corresponding full text of Springer publications and other scientific sources. Some SpringerImages key factors are: Steady growth, variety of sources (SpringerLink, SpringerProtocols, images.MD, and more): reviewed by peers, trusted sources, unlimited number of concurrent users; Access: to complete collection or to the subset Medical and Life Sciences; Permits to use the images: for personal, non-commercial sets of images; Export to PowerPoint and PDF; Includes capture, full image, font information, create sets of images easily using the "drag and drop" function; Links to the source original context of the images (on the page "image details"), extracts of the full article, captures, bibliographic information, high resolution images (when available). Users can choose the size of view, searches can be saved ; images can be emailes, shareed and bookmarked; There is an administrator tool to easily access and provide usage statistics.
