English abstract

The challenge of the Italian academic library system continues to be to combine the professionalism of librarians (manager) and the interests of stakeholders in various ways (stakeholders) which, in the academic world, include: those that determine funding; teachers (shareholder?), researchers and students but also graduate students, and graduate students already included in production systems (client or follower). Today it is essential to serve according to criteria of effectiveness, efficiency and economy.

La sfida dei sistemi bibliotecari accademici italiani continua ad essere quella di coniugare le professionalità dei bibliotecari (manager) e gli interessi degli interessati a vario titolo (stakeholder), che nel mondo universitario comprendono: coloro che ne determinano il finanziamento; docenti (shareholder?), ricercatori, studenti, ma anche laureati perfezionandi e già inseriti nei sistemi produttivi (client o follower). Oggi è essenziale servire secondo criteri di efficacia, efficienza ed economicità, puntando alla cooperazione a livello sia nazionale che internazionale.
