English abstract

Starting from the premise that future information flows will be transmitted exclusively via electronic formats and that the future of books in their current structure is uncertain, the article analyzes the situation of uncertainty for libraries’ survival in the new systems of global information, where the immediacy of access to sources and collaboration are becoming standard. The authors invite a rethinking of paradigm tools that prevail in libraries. The study also aims todiscuss the old paradigms as opposed to the changes that are taking place and focuses on defining a model of innovative thinking which can sustain the e-evolution” of libraries. Analyzing the perspectives from a qualitative research method founded on the triangulation of three or more different perspectives, the methodology-driven approach defines the paradigm changes that will be more influential in the near future and hence poses new ways to think about the interrelationship between different actors that will positively affect a sustainable e-evolution” of libraries if they are considered and seen from a global humancentered point of view.

Partiendo de la premisa de que el futuro de los flujos de información se transmitirá exclusivamente en formato electrónico y que el futuro del libro en su estructura actual es incierto, se analiza la situación de incertidumbre para las bibliotecas tradicionales en relación con los nuevos sistemas de información global donde prevalecen la inmediatez de acceso a las fuentes y las herramientas de colaboración, que obligan a replantear los paradigmas que se dan en las bibliotecas. Se pretende discutir los antiguos paradigmas en oposición los cambios que están produciendo y se enfoca a definir un modelo de pensamiento innovador que propone sustentar la e-evolución de las bibliotecas. El análisis, guiado por una investigación cualitativa, fundamentada por la metodología de la triangulación, es decir, el uso de tres o más perspectivas distintas, define los cambios de paradigma que serán más influyentes en el futuro cercano y de ahí plantea nuevas formas de pensar,la interrelación entre los diferentes actores que influirán, si son percibidos desde una mirada global, en una e-evolución sustentable de las bibliotecas.
