English abstract
This article aims to offer a vision of the present situation of scientific and technical Spanish in the international field. In the first place, it is offered a brief perspective of the representativeness of Spaniards abroad. Later on, it is analized the transfer of knowledge through the publication of articles in impact journals; in the same way, the situation of scientific Spanish is compared to that related to other languages. Later on, the situation of general, business, and scientific Spanish – the least disseminated field - is contrasted. It is also highlighted the importance of the two first branches, fact which added to the movements of the linguistic cycles and to the forecast of the expansion of Spanish in the half of the present century may lead to an increase in the representation of the scientific language in the coming years.
Spanish abstract
Este artículo tiene por objeto presentar una visión de la situación actual del español científico y técnico en el ámbito internacional. Para ello, se ofrece, en primer lugar, una breve perspectiva de la representatividad española en el exterior. A continuación, se analiza la transmisión de conocimiento en el exterior, encauzada mediante la publicación de artículos en revistas de impacto; asimismo, se compara la situación del español científico con la de otros idiomas. Seguidamente, se compara la situación del español general con el de los negocios y el científico, el campo de menor difusión de la lengua española. También, se pone de relevancia la difusión de las dos primeras ramas, hecho que unido, en primer lugar, a los movimientos de ciclos lingüísticos y, en segundo, a los pronósticos de expansión del español en la mitad del siglo pueden desencadenar una mayor representación de sus lenguajes científicos.
