English abstract

The publication of data of objects in portals and repositories has become a state of the art requirement for museums. The service providers require the use of controlled vocabularies in order to achieve more relevant search results. But how should museums provide this data? The working group "Documentation" of the German Museums Association presents two tools that can be used to integrate the data on objects in portals and enhance the search capabilities: the formats museumdat and museumvok, both based on international standards. A contribution for a better integration and networking of German museums as well as museums in other countries?

Die Publikation von Kerndaten zu Museumsobjekten in museumsübergreifenden Portalen und Repositorien ist zur Alltagsanforderung für Museen geworden. Noch glücklicher schätzen sich Service-Anbieter, wenn durch die Verwendung kontrollierter Vokabulare bessere Suchergebnisse erzielt werden können. Doch in welcher Form soll die Information zu Objekten und Vokabularen bereitgestellt werden? Mit den auf internationalen Standards basierenden Formaten museumdat und museumvok stellt die Fachgruppe Dokumentation im Deutschen Museumsbund zwei Instrumente vor, die die Integration von Objektdaten in Museumsportale vereinfachen und Recherchemöglichkeiten erweitern - ein Beitrag zur besseren Vernetzung vielleicht nicht nur deutscher Museen?
