English abstract

Translation is a difficult distinctive status in the world of editing. Does not belong strictly to the culture of arrival or departure, while we can say that a work translated once seen immediately incorporated the tradition that welcomes. The translated book, whose rights belong to the Publisher that publishes, however, links by name, author and therefore to the source culture. Nora Catelli and Marieta Gargantagli (1998) talk about even a hierarchical mismatch between cultures when it comes to translation. Existing power relationships between author and translator are not more than one dimension of Exchange economy governing production and transmission of translations.

Spanish abstract

La traducción reviste un difícil estatus distintivo en el mundo de la edición. No pertenece estrictamente ni a la cultura de llegada ni a la de partida, a pesar de que podemos afirmar que una obra una vez traducida se ve inmediatamente incorporada a la tradición que la acoge. El libro traducido, cuyos derechos pertenecen a la editorial que lo publica, se vincula sin embargo, por el nombre, a su autor y por lo tanto a la cultura de origen. Nora Catelli y Marieta Gargantagli (1998) hablan incluso de un desajuste jerárquico entre culturas cuando hablamos de traducción. Las relaciones de poder existentes entre autor y traductor no son mas que una de las dimensiones de la economía de intercambio que rige la producción y la transmisión de traducciones.
