English abstract
Due to both the digitization of press archives and the current financial, economic and journalistic recession, news libraries in online journalism need to re-invent themselves. While performing their traditional tasks, news librarians are developing new skills so that their activity will continue to be considered a necessary and natural component of quality journalism.
Spanish abstract
A raíz de la digitalización de los archivos de prensa, y agravados por la crisis financiera, empresarial y periodística actual, los servicios de documentación de los cibermedios ven cuestionada su razón de ser. Pese a ello, los documentalistas tratan de combinar sus tareas tradicionales con nuevas habilidades, para que su trabajo siga considerándose un paso necesario y natural del periodismo de calidad.
