English abstract

This paper reviews the concept of Document Engineering and sets the limits and problems of this approach, by comparing it with the theory of Information Science, and the informational characteristics of digital documents.

Este texto revisa el concepto de Ingeniería Documental y establece los límites y problemas de este enfoque, confrontándolo con la teoría de las Ciencias de la Información y las características informativas de los documentos digitales.
