English abstract
This paper discusses experiences of three American librarians (Arthur McAnally, William Vernon Jackson and GA Rudolph) and their study of library services in Peru. At various times between 1948 and 1966 these individuals had an agreement with the University of San Marcos for the purpose of auditing operations and advising changes that may be beneficial. The examination of their work shows various aspects of the development of librarianship in Peru and, despite time elapsed, problems found that were never addressed and remain dormant to this day.
