English abstract

The main aims of this article are, on the one hand, to define what we understand as artist’s books and Book object in order to show the most representative examples in the history of the Book and their main contributions; on the second hand, to show the importance of the book as a document, mainly as a special document.

Se define lo que entendemos por libros de artista y libros objeto remitiéndonos a los más representativos ejemplos de la historia del libro y sus principales aportaciones y, por otro lado, mostrar la importancia del libro como documento, sobre todo, como documento especial.
