English abstract

The importance of information content in corporate portals is analysed as it relates to users and user fidelity. The main functional aspects of a business portal are: customisation, content aggregation, presentation and navigation, searching, categorisation, integration of applications, collaboration and publication. Web services are introduced as standard elements into the portal through protocols such as xml, soap, wsdl and uddi. The article concludes by stressing the importance of technological and strategic factors as key elements in a business portal.

Spanish abstract

Se analiza la importancia de la información o los contenidosdentro de un portal corporativo en relación con los usuarios y sufidelización. Se describen las funcionalidades principales que debe tener un portal de empresa, como son: personalización, agregación de contenidos, presentación y navegación, búsqueda, categorización, integración de aplicaciones, colaboración y publicación. También se presentan los servicios web dentro del portal como elementos estándar a través de diferentes protocolos: xml, soap, wsdl y uddi. Se concluye destacando la importancia de los aspectos tecnológicos y estratégicos como principales elementos un portal corporativo.
