Introduction: With the opening of new hospitals and thereby create the library service, persons responsible for this service have got the need to create a collection of both serials and monographs based on a library without funds. Material and methods: Two newly established hospitals in Madrid, Hospital del Sureste and Hospital Infanta Cristina, have raised the status of the allocation of funds to their libraries to various committees on which they depend (Teaching Commission and Library Commission, respectively). This situation has been heightened by the desire of respective institutions to get the teaching license in order to become university hospitals and the need to meet certain requirements, among which are the library and bibliographic resources. Results: It has created a decentralized collection system. It has been provided in this two libraries with some funds of monographs in different medical specialties collected in a catalog, centralized and accessibles. At the same time, it has been located the existing manuals in medical services and has created a catalog. These catalogs, has collection monographs of medical services provided by different methods and are located physically in the location of each department. These manuals are controlled by the libraries, it has been done a work of detection, location and data collection so that these books are now located and accessible at all times. Conclusion: The availability of a decentralized funds allow that newly created library has a extensive collection to form larger and faster than just acquiring the funds. This, in addition to facilitating the approach of the funds around the hospital to library users, supplementing the achievement of meeting the requirements set to the library on minimal funds to achieve teaching accreditation as university hospitals.
