English abstract

Introduction. The exchange of information between clinical doctors and researches is a very difficult process. The obstacles come from the lack of mechanisms to describe and to publish data sources, to discover the existence of relevant information for a problem, and to accede to the relevant already disclosed information. We study here the additional difficulty of the costs of the repositories of information. It is necessary to understand the total costs of preserving the information to be able to plan and to budged the necessary resource by major efficiency. Material and Methods. We use information published in the Catalan Day of super-computing on Repositories of scientific information (JOCS ' 09) and the actas of the conference 2010 of the commission of the information for science and technology of the ICSU. It learns with examples, for these flows of work, one illustrates with examples the efforts to describe in terms of prices the design and maintenance of repositories of information. Results. A suggestion for the budgets that a repository of information would need in free access might present a profile in which 42 % was destined to the acquisition and assimilation of information, 23 % to the storage and preservation of the information, and 35 % to questions of access. They are determinant in the structure of the costs the preparation of the metadatos for the detection of the resources; the planning of the preservation and of the management of the information; and the support to the user both in the search and in the use of the information. The costs of the functions of administration and management concern of Unequal form to three percent paragraphs indicated on the base of an estimation of the needed wages. Conclusions. The available sources indicate that the costs of access are relatively expensive, on having assured effective documentation and formats for the reutilization in conformity with the standard "so 20 years should happen". Understanding for it that in 20 years they must turn out to be understandable without having to refer to the principal researcher and to the original equipment of investigation that they cannot be already available. Introducción. El intercambio de información entre médicos clínicos e investigadores es un proceso muy difícil. Los obstáculos proceden de la falta de mecanismos para describir y publicar fuentes de datos, para descubrir la existencia de datos relevantes para un problema, y para acceder a los datos relevantes ya descubiertos. Estudiamos aquí la dificultad adicional de los costes de los repositorios de datos. Es necesario entender los costes totales de conservar los datos para poder planificar y presupuestar las infraestrusturas que se requieren con mayor efectividad. Material y Métodos. Se maneja la información publicada en la Jornada Catalana de supercomputación sobre Repositorios de datos científicos (JOCS'09) y las actas de la conferencia 2010 de la comisión de los datos para ciencia y la tecnología de la ICSU. Para estos flujos de trabajo se ilustran con ejemplos los esfuerzos para describir en términos de precios el diseño y mantenimiento de repositorios de datos. Resultados. Una sugerencia en cuanto a los presupuestos que necesitaría un repositorio de datos en acceso libre podría presentar un perfil en el que el 42% se destinara a la adquisición y asimilación de datos, el 23% al almacenamiento y preservación de los datos, y el 35% a cuestiones de acceso. Son determinantes en la estructura de los costes la preparación de los metadatos para la detección de los recursos; la planificación de la preservación y de la gestión de los datos; y el apoyo al usuario tanto en la búsqueda como en el uso de los datos. Los costes de las funciones de administración y gestión afectan de forma desigual a las tres rúbricas percentuales indicadas sobre la base de una estimación de los salarios requeridos. Conclusiones. Las fuentes disponibles indican que los costes de acceso son relativamente caros, al asegurar documentación efectiva y formatos para la reutilización en conformidad con el estándar "así que pasen 20 años". Entendiendo por ello que dentro de 20 años deben resultar comprensibles sin tener que hacer referencia al investigador principal y al equipo de investigación originales que pueden no estar ya disponibles. Con independencia de los costes de mantenimiento a largo término de bits, bytes y metadatos. Una vez pagados los costes de acceso los demás son relativamente pequeños.
