English abstract

The General Practice of the Portugal Southern Area is a public institution, which provides the General Practitioner with specific training (and there are about 3,000 GP's in this area). The Library lends assistance and attends to the needs of the GP's and researchers in general. The Institute promotes courses concerning bibliographic research in Libraries about methodology in scientific process and papers such as: a thesis, un article, a report or a bibliography. Taking into account the database, its bibliographic contents and the information network which has been developed by the APDIS, the Library accomplishes an invaluable work of technique research, scientific assistance and bibliographical revision.
