English abstract
This document is trying to evaluate and interconnect different reflections about the insertion of libraries into “multicultural” areas, focusing this matter from the educational action related to the librarian activity. It brings up an exercise of critical thought with regard to guidelines outlined by IFLA about librarian services for multicultural communities, principally from the point of view of the linguistic anthropology. The approach through an interdisciplinary context allows an accurate evaluation of eventual significances of librarian interventions in multiethnic environments. In the same way, educational matter is analyzed with regard to multilingual communities, with the further difficulty for lack an endogenous education, as well as the adoption of an inclusive library science that could allow overlooking the increasing loss of identity in those cultures that historically lack written expressions.
Spanish abstract
El presente documento pretende articular reflexiones en torno a la inserción de bibliotecas en espacios “multiculturales”, planteado desde el accionar educativo y en relación al quehacer bibliotecario. Se plantea un ejercicio de pensamiento crítico con respecto a las directrices esbozadas por IFLA sobre Servicios Bibliotecarios para Poblaciones Multiculturales, especialmente desde el campo de la antropología lingüística. El abordaje, desde un marco interdisciplinario, permite evaluar los eventuales alcances de las intervenciones bibliotecarias en contextos multiétnicos. Asimismo se analiza una problemática docente en una comunidad plurilingüe, agravada por la ausencia de una educación endógena y la concepción de una bibliotecología inclusiva que permitiría subsanar la progresiva pérdida de la identidad en aquellas culturas que históricamente prescindieron de soportes escritos.
