English abstract

In open access, there are several studies showing what has been the extent and magnitude of this phenomenon but few show the effects in terms of impact and visibility of journals taking into account both the thematic distribution as the distribution by geographical region. This study aims to show the extent and presence from the perspective of the journals contained in the Scopus database from Elsevier and its effects on visibility, particularly focusing on Latin America. Preliminary results show that at international level in all disciplines present thematic magazines Parkway greatly exceed the percentage of journals golden route. However, in peripheral regions and in the emerging field of science and technology, the golden route is the most prevalent and also these magazines usually appear in the last positions of the distributions of impact. With these data in context, this study aims to characterize and describe which one is the presence of open access in Latin America to thematic level and what are its effects on visibility

En Acceso abierto, existen varios estudios que muestran cuál ha sido la extensión y la magnitud de este fenómeno pero pocos muestran los efectos en términos de impacto y visibilidad de las revistas teniendo en cuenta tanto la distribución temática como la distribución por regiones geográficas. Este estudio pretende mostrar esta extensión y presencia desde la perspectiva de las revistas contenidos en la base de datos Scopus de Elsevier, así como sus efectos sobre la visibilidad, sobre todo centrada en la región latinoamericana. Los resultados preliminares muestran que a nivel internacional, en todas las disciplinas temáticas la presencia de las revistas ruta verde sobrepasan ampliamente el porcentaje de las revistas ruta dorada. Sin embargo, en las regiones periféricas y en las emergentes en el campo de la ciencia y la tecnología, la ruta dorada es la que más predomina y además estas revistas suelen aparecer en los últimas posiciones de las distribuciones de impacto. Con estos datos de contexto, este estudio pretende caracterizar y describir cúal es la presencia del acceso abierto en la región latinoamericana a nivel temático y cuáles son sus efectos sobre la visibilidad
