English abstract
The role of specialized bibliographic databases in the current environment of online information search dominated by search engines and large multidisciplinary databases is described. The databases usefulness for searching specialized information and the need for intermediation of the resource centres for research are discussed.
Spanish abstract
Se discute el papel de las bases de datos bibliográficas especializadas en el actual entorno de búsqueda de información en internet dominado por los buscadores y por las grandes bases de datos multidisciplinares. Se plantea su utilidad para las búsquedas de información especializada y el necesario rol de intermediación de los centros de recursos para la investigación.
