English abstract
This article brings an answer to question of possible changes in functional equipment of e-readers from the eraly models released in 1998 to contemporary types. This subject has previously not been discussed, either in Czech Republic or abroad. A base for this research consisted of 10 e-readers that can be regarded as important. Comparison of these e-readers revealed that functions of the first commercially available type are very similar to those of the models released in 2011. Moreover, the e-readers from the late 1990s had more functions than some of the latest contemporary models have. This article offers possible reasons leading to this situation and suggests possibilities for further research.
Czech abstract
Tento článek odpovídá na otázku, zda a jak se změnilo funkční vybavení e-readerů od počátků těchto zařízení v roce 1998 po současnou dobu. Jedná se o problematiku, která doposud nebyla řešena, a to ani v zahraničí. Základem výzkumu bylo 10 e-readerů, které můžeme považovat za významné. Z porovnání jejích funkcí vyplývá, že již první e-reader na trhu byl vybaven velice podobně jako e-readery uvedené na trh v roce 2011. Situace je často taková, že e-readery konce 90. let měly ve výbavě více funkcí než poslední modely. Článek nabízí možné odpovědi na to, proč tomu tak je a navrhuje další směry, kterým je možné vést výzkum na tomto poli. ISSN 1802-9736.
