English abstract

Descriptive research which objectives are: 1) to investigate Drucker‟s work from the perspective of information science. 2) to describe the revolution in information from the author„s perspective. Method: seeking and retrieval information in specialized databases; documental analysis, and presentation of results. Results: author considers the information as a factor that has revolutionized the societies in different periods. Currently, information is a tool for decision making in the field of organizations. Some conclusions: the science of information refers more to the work of Drucker in a biographical and part of his work. The information has revolutionized societies in different stages of human development in today has changed the requirements for the transition from a technical worker to a knowledge worker in which the information is a key factor.

Spanish abstract

Investigación descriptiva cuyos objetivos son: 1) investigar la obra de Drucker desde la perspectiva de la ciencia de la información. 2) describir las revoluciones de la información desde la perspectiva de este autor. Método: búsqueda y recuperación de información en bases de datos especializadas; análisis documental y presentación de resultados. Resultados: el autor considera a la información como factor que ha revolucionado a las sociedades en distintos periodos. Actualmente, la información es una herramienta para la toma de decisiones en el ámbito de las organizaciones. Algunas conclusiones: la ciencia de la información se remite más a la obra de Drucker de manera biográfica y parte de su obra. La información ha revolucionado a las sociedades en distintas etapas de su desarrollo humano; en la actual ha cambiado las exigencias para la transición de un trabajador técnico a un trabajador del conocimiento en la cual la información es un factor clave.
