English abstract
CCF (Common Communication Format), a bibliographic record record model promoted by Unesco may be a key tool to multiply the accessibility of cataloging information contained in various types of bibliographic records in machine readable form. The current Spanish situation , with the recent development of a full IBERMARC format, encourages to address analytical studies leading to the development of software for converting IBERMARC to CCF and vice versa. This article examines the possibilities offered by CCF and presents a comparative analysis of the specifications of both formats, which has been conducted as a prerequisite to the development of conversion software IBERMARC-CCF.
