English abstract

The work outlines systematically current methods and standards for the measurement and evaluation of e-resource usage. Possibilities and limitations when applying usage data in the context of license decisions are shown. The current practise in Austrian academic libraries is investigated exploratively by means of a focus group as well as an online survey.

German abstract

Die vorliegende Arbeit verschafft anhand einer Literaturrecherche einen systematischen Überblick über aktuelle Methoden und Standards für die Messung und Bewertung der Nutzung von Netzpublikationen. Es werden theoretische Grundlagen, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Verwendung von Nutzungsdaten für Lizenzentscheidungen aufgezeigt. Mit Hilfe einer Fokusgruppe und einer Umfrage wird die konkrete Praxis in wissenschaftlichen Informationseinrichtungen in Österreich explorativ und deskriptiv erhoben.
