English abstract
Ecological considerations on the further development of the knowledge society - an essay from a democratic perspective. This essay deals with the misguided developments of the knowledge and information society and calls for a conscious societal use of information technologies and their potentials. Besides ecological considerations, economical, ethical and political concerns are addressed.
German abstract
Dieses Essay erörtert die Fehlentwicklungen der Informations- bzw. Wissensgesellschaft und plädiert für einen gesellschaftlich bewussten Umgang mit der Informationstechnologie und ihren Möglichkeiten. Dabei kommen neben ökologischen auch wirtschaftliche, informationsethische und -politische Aspekte zur Sprache.
