English abstract

The paper stems from elaborated PhD thesis focused about different law information systems and their comparison with similar information systems in Germany and USA. The paper deals with methods of evaluation of various kinds of law information systems. The paper also deals, why it is so difficult to evaluate the quality of legal information systems, and about the (in)applicability of the conventional evaluation methods as efficiency or effectiveness. The paper brings its own criteria to evaluate legal information systems with, as connectivity or provided user help. These criteria will be explained using different kinds of Czech and foreign legal information systems.
