English abstract

The library of The Royal Botanic Garden (Madrid) is one of the oldest and more important botanical libraries in Europe. Its origin dates from the foundation of the Garden at 1755. During its more than 255 years of history, it has collected a rich collection of books and prints from the XVth Century til nowadays, and It has become a reference center for the study of Botany and related sciences. It belongs to the Spanish Research Council Libraries Network and it's an institutional member of EBHL: European Botanical and Horticultural Libraries and other international projects such as Linnaeus Link.

La biblioteca del Real Jardín Botánico es una de las bibliotecas especializadas en Botánica y Horticultura más antiguas e importantes de Europa; su origen se remonta a la fundación del Jardín a mediados del siglo XVIII. Durante sus más de 255 años de historia, ha acopiado una colección que a día de hoy es un referente para el estudio de la Botánica nacional e internacional. Pertenece a la Red de Bibliotecas del CSIC y además es miembro institucional de EBHL: European Botanical and Horticultural Libraries y participa en otros proyectos internacionales como Linnaeus Link.
