English abstract

The Scientometrics Laboratory redalyc.org-fractal (LabCrf ®) is introduced as a proposal of a regional re- search group. It aims to develop alternative indicators based on scientific research output and coauthorship at various levels: country, area, institution, etc. through an alternative and more comprehensive approach with the classification of the production and collabo- ration in: institutional, national and foreign. This methodology offers a different view about the role that actors are performing in scientific communication by analyzing the world’s scientific production published in Latin American open access journals of redalyc.org in the period 2005-2011.

Se presenta la propuesta de un grupo de investigación regional: el Laboratorio de Cienciometría redalyc.org-fractal (LabCrf ®) que elaborará indica- dores alternativos de producción y colaboración científica a niveles de país, área, institución, etc, mediante una metodología alternativa y más comprehensiva, a partir de la identificación de la producción y colaboración: institucional, nacional no institucional y extranjera. Esta metodología ofrece una mirada alternativa acerca del papel que están realizando los actores de la investigación al analizar la producción científica del mundo en revistas iberoamericanas de acceso abierto redalyc.org, 2005- 2011.
