English abstract

The objective of the present text is to offer a different and more comprehensive perspective of the way researchers of the world work when submitting their contributions to open access Ibero-American journals hosted at redalyc.org; in order to do so, this text approaches the region by entities, which allows identifying contributions from the very actors of research by: country, institution and author, in three di- mensions in relation to scientific output and output in colla- boration, namely: institutional, non-institutional national and foreign. Likewise, it is considered that in virtue of the action of re- dalyc.org, the Ibero-American region has a new perspective with two contributions: a) making visible the global scientific contributions in Ibero-American journals that are not inclu- ded in other databases; b) offer data on output and output in collaboration for more than 13000 institutions, identifying the characteristics of their contribution: in institutional jour- nals, in national journals or in international journals. This alternative measurement allows understanding the regional output; mainly that from social sciences, since redalyc.org comprises more than 500 journals of this field of knowledge.

El objetivo de la presente cápsula es ofrecer una mira- da distinta y más comprehensiva de la manera en cómo trabajan los investigadores del mundo cuando someten sus contribuciones a revistas iberoamericanas de acceso abierto redalyc.org, para ello, aborda a la región por en- tidades, lo que permite identificar la contribución de los actores de investigación por: país, institución y autor en tres dimensiones respecto a la producción y a la colabo- ración de modo: institucional, nacional no institucional y extranjera. También, queda a consideración que gracias a la acción de redalyc.org la región iberoamericana cuenta con una nue- va mirada con dos aportes: a) hacer visibles las contribu- ciones científicas del mundo en revistas iberoamericanas no incluidas en otras bases de datos, b) presentar los datos de producción y colaboración de más de 13,000 institucio- nes identificando la característica de su contribución: en revistas de la institución, en revistas del país o en revistas de otros países. Esta métrica alternativa permite compren- der la producción regional, sobre todo en las ciencias so- ciales ya que redalyc.org cuenta con más de 500 revistas de éstas disciplinas.
