English abstract

The aim of this study is to explore some terms involved in “information access”. A review of several authors was made to identify the interrelationships between “access”, “access service” and “accessibility”. We concluded that the service policy implemented has to be revised and evaluated to have a better understanding of the use of information resources in general.

Spanish abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es explorar algunos términos que giran alrededor del acceso a la información. Se revisaron diversos autores sobre los siguientes temas: "acceso", "servicio de acceso" y "accesibilidad" para identificar las interrelaciones que existen entre ellos. Se concluye que habrá que revisar y evaluar las políticas de servicios bibliotecarios y de información implementadas para conocer el uso dado a las fuentes y recursos de información.
