English abstract

The Central Library of National University of Villa María was looking for an appliation to replace the old library software. The prefference was an open source and free software with two canditates: KOHA and PMB. In this paper I will tell you why we choose PMB and its main characteristics.

Durante algunos años, la Biblioteca Central de la Universidad Nacional de Villa María se volcó a la búsqueda de una aplicación que pudiera reemplazar con éxito a la que en ese momento se tenía. Las tendencias hacia el open access y el free software volcaron la balanza hacia dos posibles candidatos: KOHA y PMB. En esta ponencia explicaré por qué elegimos PMB y cuáles son sus características principales.
