English abstract

Librarian apprenticeship in Austria. Development and state of affairs. This paper deals with the development of the apprenticeship for archive, library and information assistants in Austria. Along with statistical data also the competing multitracking with the traditional internal trainee programs is addressed. In addition, the development of comparable apprenticeship in Germany, Switzerland and Lichtenstein is sketched. The description concludes with a statistical three-country comparison. This article is based on an elaborate study, which will be published under the title "FaMI und ABID-Assistenz – quo vaditis?" as volume 12 (ISBN 978-3-85376-292-9) in the series of the Association of Austrian Librarians (VÖB).

German abstract

Dieser Beitrag befasst sich mit der Entwicklung des Lehrberufes "Archiv-, Bibliotheks- und Informationsassistent/in" (ABI-Ass.) in Österreich. Neben statistischen Auswertungen wird auch auf die konkurrierende Dreigleisigkeit mit den traditionellen internen Ausbildungsschienen im österreichischen Bibliothekswesen eingegangen. Darüber hinaus wird auch die Entwicklung der vergleichbaren Lehrberufe in Deutschland (FaMI) sowie in der Schweiz und in Liechtenstein (I+D-Ass.) skizziert. Die Darstellung schließt mit einem statistischen Dreiländervergleich. Dieser Beitrag basiert auf einer ausführlichen Vergleichsstudie über die berufliche Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung auf der mittleren Qualifikationsebene im Archiv-, Bibliotheks-, Informations- und Dokumentationswesen (ABID) des deutschsprachigen Raumes, welche unter dem Titel "FaMI und ABID-Assistenz – quo vaditis?" als Band 12 der VÖB-Schriftenreihe mit der ISBN 978-3-85376-292-9 erscheint.
