English abstract

The article argues for the professional management in the publication of scientific journals identifying the necessary professional and personal skills. To overcome the shortcomings in the publication of Spanish scientific journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences, it is necessary a new mindset that involves "digital thinking" and management is supported on professionals specifically trained. Technological knowledge are needed in this environment: XML, metadata, rich formats, CMS, editorial management systems OJS type, new formats for reading on mobile devices ... Also another group of key competencies are found in the knowledge of the scientific publishing market their new business models and everything related to intellectual property rights. The relation is supplemented with other skills related to the social web, document analysis and open research data.

Spanish abstract

Se aboga por la profesionalidad de la gestión editorial de las revistas científicas identificando las competencias tanto profesionales como personales necesarias. Para superar las carencias de la edición de revistas científicas españolas en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, se hace necesaria una nueva mentalidad que implique “pensar en digital” y que la gestión se apoye en profesionales formados específicamente para ello. Son necesarios conocimientos tecnológicos en este entorno: XML, metadatos, formatos enriquecidos, CMS, sistemas de gestión editorial tipo OJS, nuevos formatos para la lectura en dispositivos móviles… Además otro grupo de competencias claves las encontramos en torno al conocimiento del mercado editorial científico con sus nuevos modelos de negocio y a todo lo relacionado con los derechos intelectuales. Se complementa la relación con otras habilidades necesarias relacionadas con la web social, el análisis documental y la apertura de los datos de investigación.
