English abstract

The article reviews changes in information environment with direct impact to libraries. Stress falls on diverse options to raise popularity of library services. Crucial facets, e.g. comfort, consideration, adequate response and persistence are accentuated. The author is President of the Library Association of Singapore (LAS), from 1997 to 2005. Currently, he is a member of the International Association of Technological and Scientific Universities Libraries. Article has been translated in Bulgarian by Nadya Terzieva.

В статията са разгледани промените в информационната среда, които оказват влияние върху ползването на библиотеката. Подробно са описани начините за повишаване използването на библиотечните услуги. Изключително ясно са обяснени ключови понятия като удобство, внимание, информираност и постоянство. Авторът е председател на Библиотечната асоциация на Сингапур (Library Association of Singapore, LAS) от 1997 г. до 2005 г. В момента е член на съвета на International Association of Technological and Scientific Universities Libraries. Преводът на български език е направен от Надя Терзиева
