English abstract

This paper briefly presents relationship of factors in provision of Networked Services (NS) at National Institute of Technology (NIT) libraries in India. The factors such as Library Automation (LA), Network Infrastructure (NI), Computer Infrastructure (CI), Electronic Resources (ER), and Manpower (MA) are considered for this study in comparison to Networked Services (NS) offered by the NIT libraries. The survey questionnaire was the pivotal data collection process. The sample size was twenty, due to the limited in number of NITs in India. A statistical technique was applied for the purpose of analysis and interpretation of data to provide empirical evidence. The survey finds that the CI, LA and NI facilities are found to be statistically significant than the ER and MA, though they are almost equally an important role in providing NS at NIT libraries across the country.
